Questions, Answered

Visiting, buying, and getting your knife or ceramics home.

In store & experience
Can I really pick up and test any knife?
Yes. Every knife can be held, and you can test the edge on a hygienic cutting sponge before you decide.
Do you sharpen my knife for me?
We do not offer a re-sharpening service — on purpose. A professional maintains their own blade, so we stock whetstones and teach you to sharpen in a free in-store lesson.
Do I need to book the sharpening lesson?
Walk-ins are welcome when staff are free; for a guaranteed slot, ask ahead via the contact form.
Buying
How can I pay?
Major cards and common QR payments, plus cash. [ Details to be confirmed. ]
Can you hold an item until I visit?
Yes — send a stock inquiry through the contact form with the item and your visit date and we will reserve it.
Do you have left-handed knives?
Double-bevel knives (like gyuto and santoku) work in either hand. We also carry dedicated left-handed single-bevel knives — ask us.
Carrying & shipping
Can I take a knife on the plane?
Not in carry-on. Knives must go in checked luggage; we protect-pack every blade for travel.
Do you ship overseas?
On request — if you buy more than you can carry, we can pack and ship knives and ceramics home. Some countries restrict blade imports by post; we will confirm your country before you buy.
Do you run knife-sharpening events?
Yes — hands-on sharpening events at both stores through the year. Dates are irregular and announced on our Facebook page. Free in-store lessons are available any day too.
Engraving & pros
How long does name engraving take?
Kanji, katakana or roman letters on knives bought in store. Fee and turnaround [ to be confirmed ] — reserve ahead where possible.
I am opening a restaurant abroad — can you help with a bulk order?
Yes. Tell us what you are building and we will help you choose and ship it. Start with the contact form.
